The aim of Seymour Health Centre is to provide comprehensive, accessible, and coordinated services to meet your everyday health needs. It includes a range of services, from prevention and health promotion to diagnosis and treatment of common health conditions.

Pillars of Primary Care at Seymour Health

1. Family Physicians and General Practitioners (GPs): The cornerstone of Seymour Health primary health care is the family physician or GP. These medical professionals often serve as the first point of contact for patients and are responsible for coordinating care, providing preventive services (e.g., immunizations, screenings), diagnosing and managing a wide range of medical conditions, and referring patients to specialists when necessary.
2. Nurse Practitioners (NPs): Nurse practitioners play an increasingly important role in BC’s primary health care system. NPs are registered nurses with advanced education and training who can diagnose and treat illnesses, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic tests, often in collaboration with physicians.
3. Nurses (PCN)– PCN nurses play a critical and evolving role, helping bridge gaps in care and supporting both patients and other healthcare providers. This inter-professional collaboration ensures that patients receive comprehensive, holistic care including but not limited to vaccinations and screenings.
